The White Lion's new management team took over this beautiful 17th Century Pub Restaurant in the picturesque 15th century village of Soberton in March 2011. After a conversation whilst visiting the pub it became clear that another little gem could disappear from village life as so many have before.

After talking they decided they were not prepared to let this happen, thankfully as a result Soberton and further afield still have an excellent meeting and eating place.

Only a couple of minutes from the A32, the pub sits in the most peaceful setting, nestled practically on the village green and in sight of the old church it’s often described as the centre of the village.

Whilst recognising maintaining the village atmosphere was important they decided to leave the outside pretty much untouched but have sympathetically refurbished the interior, bringing a light airy feel to the bar and restaurant with furniture and decoration that’s hard not to be impressed by.

The White Lion has long been proud of its menu drawing diners from far and wide to sample locally supplied produce cooked to perfection and served in a pleasant and courteous atmosphere. The new team have not only retained these values but have looked to enhance them. Watch this space for spectacular additions to the menu, guaranteed to please Meon Valley diners

If eating Al Fresco appeals to you The White Lion has a lovely outdoor terrace, where our staff would be happy to serve you, this is separate to our family friendly garden where mum and dads can compete with the kids on a variety of different garden games.

The White Lion location is criss-crossed by many famous trails, bike rides and dog walking groups and is the AA recommended stop on this walk. All are welcome and we are happy to supply dog bowls and treats for your four legged companions and for the weary legged its an idyllic place to rest and recuperate.
